Help Us Rebuild

Presentation Brothers College
Old Fort Road
St. George's
Grenada,
WEST INDIES

Dear Supporter,

On September 07, 2004, Hurricane Ivan hit the Small Island Nation of Grenada, in the Caribbean, destroying 90% of its homes, schools, churches and other public buildings.

The wrath of this category four hurricane also decimated the country's agriculture and tourism sectors leaving an already fragile economy groping for alternative sources of revenue to begin the daunting task of rebuilding our beautiful island.

The Presentation Brothers College which has served the Grenadian community for over fifty-five years by providing quality secondary education to the nation's youth did not escape the ravages of Hurricane Ivan's fury; the entire College was destroyed. The school did not only loose the roofs on both buildings, but lost the Principal's offices and the entire administrative department, including all of it's furniture and office equipment. Our Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Integrated Science Labs together with all their furniture and equipment were gone. Our Technical Drawing Room and drawing boards, our Audio-Visual Room and all its equipment, the fencing of the school and the tennis/basketball court were destroyed. In addition, we have lost over 75% of the students' desks and chairs, some of our sporting equipment and our intercom system. As a result of the force of the wind and the extensive water damage, some parts of the physical infrastructure of the school have become structurally unsound and would have to be rebuilt.

The Principal, Staff, Past Students and Parents of the school are not deterred by the enormous task that is before us to rebuild Presentation Brothers College. Already the entire school community has been rallying around the College pledging their time and resources towards the rebuilding effort. However, in order to raised the estimated $800, 000.00 EC to rebuild the two buildings we would have to solicit the generosity of our friends, companies, benefactors and educational institutions to assist us in this moment of need.

We thank you in advance for your generosity and we assure you that your contribution will go directly to the rebuilding of Presentation Brothers College and ultimately towards the development of young people in Grenada.

Yours Sincerely.

Mr. Dominic Jeremiah
Principal
Presentation Brothers College, Grenada .
